Tigers Defeat Wolfpack 3-2

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers defeated the N.C. State Wolfpack 3-2 (13-15, 15-8, 11-15, 15-8, 15-12) Friday evening at Jervey Gym. With the win, Clemson improves to 13-15 overall and 6-8 in the ACC while N.C. State falls to 8-21 overall and 1-15 in league play.

Junior Jodi Steffes tallied 21 kills with 15 digs, nine blocks and a .315 hitting percentage to lead the Tigers while Kiki Dallao recorded 12 kills with 11 digs. Laura Jensen and Jackie Dalleska added ten kills each and Anne Berki had a match-high 11 blocks for the Tigers. Jessi Betcher handed out 53 assists in the match and had seven kills with one error in 16 attempts for a .375 hitting percentage. Clemson outhit NC State .175 to .145.

Charece Williams led N.C. State with 21 kills while Stephanie Stambaugh tallied 19 kills and recorded a team-high seven blocks (two solo). Crystal Shannon dished out a match-high 70 assists and Caroline Frede served three aces.

Clemson hosts Florida State Saturday night to wrap up their regular season schedule. The match against the Seminoles is set for 6:00 p.m. at Jervey Gym.
