Clemson, S.C. – The Clemson women’s golf team concluded the second round of action and the first nine holes of round three on Monday afternoon, placing them in 14th place. The Tigers wrap up competition at the IJGA Collegiate Invitational tomorrow as they play the last nine holes beginning at 9:15 EST.
Opening the tournament with a 293 team score the Tigers moved to 591 after a 298 performance in the second round.
After sinking the Tigers’ first eagle of the tournament and just the 10th across the field, senior Ana Paula Valdes moved her tournament total to two-over par after going even through round two. In the first half of the third round, Valdes shot two-over par to bring her tournament total four-over pending the final nine holes. Valdes added four birdies through her second round despite two bogeys on both the front and back nine of the Guadalajara Country Club.
Ivy Shepherd and Callista Rice both joined the scoring with two-over par scores in the second round, moving Shepherd to one-over on the tournament and Rice to six-over. Shepherd remains on the cusp of the top-25 margin with a two-over score following her one-over performance in the first nine holes of the third round. Rice ranks 52nd among all individuals after shooting three-over the front nine.
