WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Clemson Tigers completed the first day of the ACC Outdoor Championships on Thursday night at Kentner Stadium.
Multiple Tigers on both the men’s and women’s sides advanced past the preliminary rounds and have secured spots in the finals of their respective events.
Meet Highlights:
- Matt Auble threw a personal best of 61.06m in the men’s hammer which advanced him to the finals where he finished ninth overall. The mark moves him to sixth all-time on the top ten list.
- Kendra Dye recorded a new personal best in the women’s hammer throw as she threw 56.35m which moves her to No. 6 on the all-time list.
- After finishing first in her heat, JodyAnn Dixon is headed to the finals of the women’s 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.78.
- With a time of 51.00 and a first place finish in his heat, Jayden Brown is moving on to the finals of the 400 meter hurdles.
- Both Aniyah Kitt and Sade Gray secured a spot in the finals of the women’s 200 meters after finishing with top times.
- In the men’s 200 meters, Jalen Johnson ran the fastest time of the day at 20.61 to advance to the finals and Ian Johnson ran 20.91 for a new personal best and a spot in the finals.
- Both Brynne Sumner and Silvia Jelelgo finished first in their heats of the women’s 1500 meters as they secured their spots in the finals of the event.
