Tigers Announce 2015 Schedule

CLEMSON, S.C. — Five regular season meets, including the Notre Dame Invitational and NCAA Pre-Nationals in the month of October, highlight Clemson’s 2015 cross country schedule.

“We want to continue to use the Musser Farms course and have meets, but it did not make sense this season with the football schedule we have,” said Head Coach Mark Elliott, whose teams will not host a meet in 2015. “But, our schedule is set up the best. You’ve got to be ready to go, once they start counting your points toward NCAA Championships consideration. Our first weekend that officially counts is Notre Dame, and it is a course that sets up well for our teams in my opinion.”

The Tigers open the 2015 season at the Winthrop Challenge in Rock Hill, S.C., on Friday, Sept. 4. Clemson’s first “countable” competition takes place Friday, Oct. 2 at Notre Dame, just one day before the Tiger football team hosts the Fighting Irish in Memorial Stadium.

The Pre-Nationals will be held at Louisville’s E.P. “Tom” Sawyer Park on Oct. 17, a precursor to the NCAA Championships held at the same facility a month later. The ACC Championships have a new home in 2015, as the Tigers travel to Tallahassee, Fla., for the Oct. 30 competition.
