CLEMSON, SC – Clemson University’s homecoming weekend is set to kick off with the 57th annual Tigerama Homecoming Pep Rally Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., at Littlejohn Coliseum.
The free, family-friendly Tigerama Tailgate will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the Lawn of Littlejohn Coliseum. The pre-event will feature live musical performances and activity booths sponsored by student organizations.
The emcees for the evening will be Clemson alumnus and former staff member, Casey Berkshire. Berkshire served as the director for freshmen academic programs in the Office of Undergraduate Studies for nine years.
The second emcee will be a student selected in a campus-wide competition, titled “The Host.” The competition will take place from Sept. 9 to 20. Applicants, each sponsored by an organization, will be interviewed and narrowed down to ten finalists. These 10 finalists will compete in four challenges to earn points. The contestant with the most points at the end of the competition will be awarded the opportunity to co-emcee Tigerama 2013.
The theme for Tigerama is “Paw Prints in the Sand,” reflecting on legacy and the mark that Clemson students have on the university. The event will feature Head Football Coach Dabo Swinney, the Clemson football team, Tiger Band, the cheerleaders, Rally Cats and the winners of the annual skit competition.
Tigerama tickets can be purchased in advance for $8 for adults and $6 for students and children. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $10. Tickets can be purchased in various downtown Clemson establishments as well as from any Blue Key Honor Society member. Tickets will also be sold on the Cooper Library bridge the week leading up to the event.
The week prior to Tigerama, special deals will be offered to ticket holders at local restaurants including 3 Spoons, BGR, Chipotle, Jersey Mike’s and Spill the Beans.
Tigerama is hosted by the Blue Key Honor Society. All proceeds aid the Blue Key Tigerama Scholarship Fund. For more information visit tigerama.org.
