Tiger Volleyball Adds Turkish Hitter To 2007 Class

CLEMSON, SC – A day after signing two state champions, head coach Jolene Jordan Hoover has gained a commitment from Turkish hitter Cansu Ozdemir to join the Clemson volleyball program in 2007. Ozdemir, a 6’0″ hitter from Istanbul, Turkey, is a member of the same club team as Tiger freshman Didem Ege. Her Eczacibasi Sports Club team claimed the Turkish Championships for the third time in five years when they placed first last summer. Ozdemir’s team has also finished first in the Istanbul region for six straight years.

“We are excited that Cansu is joining our program,” Hoover said. “She comes from one of the best club teams in Turkey, the same team as Didem, that has been extremely successful in their championship tournaments.”
