Tiger Teams Post Top 10s at Louisville

CLEMSON, S.C. — Roland Hakes finished in eighth place to highlight Clemson’s action in the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic held Saturday at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park. He helped the men’s team to a seventh-place finish, while the women took eighth in the gold division. Wisconsin won both gold division races.

Hakes produced a personal best over the men’s 8K course, turning in an outstanding time of 24:01.18. He led the Tigers for the second straight week. Aaron Ramirez returned after a week off and finished 24th overall with a time of 24:39.00. The final three scorers Saturday for the men’s team were Josh Davis (59th, 25:08.46), James Dwyer (67th, 25:13.13) and Clayton Wilson (68th, 25:13.88).

Grace Barnett led the Tiger women’s team for the third time in four meets this season. The sophomore from Pawleys Island, S.C., posted a time of 17:44.59 at Louisville’s 5K course and took 32nd place. She was followed by another sophomore, Alexa Womack, in 46th position (17:54.06). Rounding out Clemson’s scoring efforts for the women were Catherine Herring in 61st (18:04.40), Natoya Goule in 76th (18:11.46) and Evie Tate in 117th (18:28.59).
