Tiger Swimmers Compete In NCAA Championships

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – Clemson’s 200 free and 400 medley relay teams, Elise Thieler and Patty Hider competed in the preliminary rounds of the NCAA Women’s Swimming Championships held this morning at the Nassau Aquatic Center.

In the preliminaries, the 200 free relay team (Elise Thieler, Lindsey Kroeger) finished 19th with a time of 1:34.65 while the 400 medley relay was 18th with a time of 3:46.25. The 400 medley relay teams time ranks third on the Clemson women’s all-time best list and is the fastest time the Tigers have recorded this season. In the 50 free event preliminaries, Hider was 35th with a time of 23.39 and Thieler finished 45th in 23.67.

The meet continues Thursday night with the finals of the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 individual medley, 50 free, and 400 medley relay. On Friday, Elise Thieler will compete in the 100 fly and the 200 medley relay team will compete. The Championship meet concludes on Saturday.
