The Clemson University Athletic Department is proud to announce the Tiger Pride 2001 Golf Tournament, sponsored by Bi-Lo and Tiger Pride Tournament Party sponsored by Aramark.
The first Tiger Pride Golf Tournament was held April, 2000 and was an overwhelming success. The events of that tournament raised over $50,000 for the Tiger Pride Capital Campaign. The goal for 2001 is to increase this amount to over $60,000.
As a result of the enthusiasm and interest raised from the premier tournament, the Tiger Pride 2001 Golf Tournament will be even bigger and better. The field at Cross Creek Plantation last April was overflowing with fifty-five teams in competition. Many Tiger golfers had to be turned away as we were unable to accommodate any additional teams. For this reason, a second golf course has been added for the 2001 tournament.
The host courses for the 2001 Tiger Pride tournament will be the Boscobel Golf Club and Cross Creek Plantation. The tournament will be held on Friday, April 6th, the day before the annual Orange – White Spring Football Game.
The format will remain the same – two shot-gun starts at each course (8 a.m. and 1 p.m.) and Captain’s Choice.
A total reservation of twenty-two teams will be taken for each course for each tee-time. Each course will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis of paid entries.
The Tiger football coaching staff and other Tiger celebrities will be on hand to entertain you at both courses.
The entry fee for the tournament is $150 per person. This includes green and cart fees, lunch, a tournament gift package, snacks and beverages on the course and two tickets to the tournament party at Littlejohn Coliseum, Friday evening.
The Tournament Party & Sports Memorabilia Auction last April was a big hit with everyone. Aramark will once again host this event. Many one-of-a-kind Tigers Sports Autographed Items will be available during the auction for your bidding.
Additional tickets to the tournament party may be purchased for $25 each (no one under 18, please).
Make your plans now to be a part of this exciting day. Complete the entry form below and return it with your check to reserve your place on the course. If you have a preference of which course to play, please check the appropriate box on the form. Since many golfers were from out of town last year, we encourage the local players to play at 8 a.m. to allow travel time for those coming from out of the area. The tournament filled up early last year, so don’t wait too long to show your Tiger Pride spirit.
If you have any questions or want more information on the golf tournament or tournament party, please call tournament director, Jan Bundy at (864) 710-4561.
