Tiger Men’s Swimming & Diving Team To Play Host To Florida State Saturday

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s swimming and diving team will play host to Florida State on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at McHugh Natatorium. Fans for Saturday’s meet should park in the general public parking area for football, which is located below Doug Kingsmore Stadium and can be accessed from Highway 93.

The Tigers are 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, most recently defeating College of Charleston and falling to ninth-ranked Virginia. Jordan Raynovich, Buddy Reed and Brian Regone each won two events against the Cougars. Drew Scheerhorn led the Tiger men against defending ACC Champion Virginia, winning the 50 free and swimming the anchor leg of the first-place 400 medley and 400 free relay teams. Eric Shulick led Clemson in diving, taking first place in the one-meter and second in the three-meter against the Cavaliers.

Florida State is 4-0 on the season and is ranked 19th according to the College Swimming Coaches Association poll. The Seminoles most recently defeated Florida Atlantic and Indian River Community College. Matt Wheeler won the 200 fly and 200 IM, while Joel Roycik took first in the 100 free and 100 fly and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay team at the double-dual meet.

Clemson is 2-4 all-time against Florida State with the Tigers winning the last meeting between the two teams. Clemson took a 156-85 victory over the Seminoles on Nov. 3, 2001.
