Tiger Divers Travel to Notre Dame, JMU This Weekend

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson diving team returns to the road this weekend for a pair of events – the Shamrock Invitational on Friday, Jan. 30 and Saturday, Jan. 31, and a dual meet against James Madison on Saturday, Jan. 31. The squad will be split, with half of the team heading to Notre Dame, Ind. and the other half traveling to Harrisonburg, Va.

The Clemson divers are coming off their best performances to date, with 10 different zone qualifying scores recorded last weekend in dual meets at South Carolina and College of Charleston. Sophomores Sarah Braun and Danielle Reitsma qualified for zones in three of their four events on the weekend, while junior Megan Helwagen qualified in both the one-meter and three-meter in the meet against the Gamecocks. The Tigers are 4-1 in dual meets this season.

Clemson competes against three other teams in the Shamrock Invitational this weekend. In addition to the Irish, Iowa and Incarnate Word will be in attendance in Notre Dame. This is the first time the Tiger diving team has participated in the Shamrock Invitational.

The Tigers defeated James Madison on Feb. 8, 2014 when the Dukes traveled to Clemson for a tri-meet on Senior Day. Senior Chelsea Uranaka took second place in the three-meter in that meet, while Reitsma placed third in the one-meter.
