Clemson, S.C.—Turk Pettit, Jacob Bridgeman, and Kyle Cottam have all been named to the Ping All-Region Golf Team as chosen by the Collegiate Golf Coaches Association. All three are key members of Clemson’s fourth-ranked team that is competing this weekend at the NCAA National Tournament in Scottsdale, Arizona.
It marks the first time since 2018 and the seventh time since the CGCA starting picking all-region teams in 2007 that Clemson has had at least three golfers named to the team. It is the third all-region selection for Pettit and Bridgeman and the first for Cottam.
Pettit ranks second on the Clemson team in stroke average this year with a 70.14 figure, tied for third-best in Clemson history. He has six top 10 finishes in his seven tournaments, including a team-best fourth-place at the NCAA Regional in Kingston, Tennessee. He also finished third at the John Hayt and fourth at the Valspar. Entering Sunday’s third round of the NCAA National Tournament, he is tied for second place at five-under-par.
Bridgeman has a 69.46 stroke average entering the NCAA National Tournament, best in the nation and on pace to be the best in Clemson history. The junior has six top 10 finishes in his eight tournaments so far this year, including victories at the Camp Creek Seminole and the Palmetto. He has 13 rounds in the 60s so far this year.
Cottam has a 71.33 stroke average so far this year with eight rounds in the 60s and 10 under-par rounds. He was Clemson’s best player at the ACC Tournament where his fourth-place finish in stroke play and his 2-0 record in match play were keys to the Tigers winning the league championship.
