GREENVILLE, S.C. — Jenna Thompson continued her impressive weekend on the final day of the Debbie Southern Fall Invitational. Following Saturday’s solid performance that saw her pick up a come-from-behind victory, she won her singles match on Sunday in straight sets.
Playing against Georgia Tech’s Alejandra Cruz, Thompson had to fight to get the early edge. The first set went to a tiebreak that she was able to come out on top of. The second set went Thompson’s way by a final score of 6-4.
Thompson’s Sunday win marked the conclusion of competition at the team’s first event of the fall. The Tigers will return to action on Friday, Sept. 23 at the UNC Charlotte Invite.
