Swimming and Diving to Face Florida Atlantic Friday

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams travel to Boca Raton, FL where they will compete at Florida Atlantic Friday, December 18 at 10:00 a.m. The Tiger men are 3-1 (0-1 ACC) and the women are 5-0 (2-0 ACC) so far this season.

Both the men and women are 15-0 all-time against the Owls. Last season the Tigers defeated the Owls 155-83 on the women’s side and 176.5-64.5 on the men’s side.

The Tigers’ most recent action came in the Georgia Tech Invitational where they took third overall finishing behind top-25 teams Florida and Florida State. Clemson saw several NCAA-B times at the Invite along with several people moving into Clemson’s all-time list.

On the women’s side, sophomore Kelli Kyle earned a NCAA-B time in the 100 back after finishing second and the women’s 200 medley relay also recorded a NCAA-B time. Freshman Meg Anderson moved into eighth at Clemson in the 100 free with her second place finish and had a lifetime best 23.34 in the 50 free. Sophomore Maddie Tarantolo moved into third at Clemson in the 100 fly with her prelim time of 55.00.

On the men’s side, the 400 free relay group of Seth Broster, Myles Oliver, Chris Reinke and Chris Dart earned a NCAA-B time of 3:00.80. Sophomore Chris Dart had a lifetime best in the 200 IM that moved him into seventh all-time at Clemson.

After this meet the Tigers will have break until January. The diving team will head to the Georgia Invite January 3-5 and the swimmers will be back in action on January 9 to face ACC opponent North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.
