CLEMSON, SC – Clemson Swimming and Diving Coach Christopher Ip announced his eleven-member class on Monday. The eleven signees represent a national pull, as they hail from nine different states, and includes several state championships, All- American accolades, and two Olympic Trial Participants.
“Recruiting starts with assembling a great coaching staff and I feel that our staff has the blend of strengths to attract the best student-athletes,” said Ip. “Lance Asti, our recruiting coordinator has put together a great plan to reach all possible candidates in the swimming community. With the addition of Ron Turner and his strong ties with USA swimming we have been able to push the tempo on getting the Clemson University name out to all viable student-athletes, and this class represents that.”
Recruiting Coordinator Lance Asti was equally pleased with the class, adding, “This is arguably the best early signing class Clemson Swimming has seen but they will have some big shoes to fill. The best part about this recruiting class, in my opinion, is how balanced they are. Each of them have already demonstrated a commitment to academics and will help lead Clemson Swimming and Diving to great things in the classroom. In this class, we have Academic All-Americans, Presidential Scholarship recipients, and possibly members of the Clemson Honor’s College. We are certainly proud to have them join us.”
