Job Description
Position purpose is to expose the student to the Profession of Strength and Conditioning. To gain knowledge by observation, teaching sessions, and minor hands on opportunities of the daily details of strength training. The Purpose of the position is to provide interns with relevant experience in the field of Strength and Conditioning.
- Start/End Dates: Fall internships begin 1 week before classes begin and end at the conclusion of semester finals; Spring and Summer internships begin the Monday before Spring and Summer session classes begin and end at the conclusion of the semester/session with finals
- Typical Hours: 50-60hrs/week
- Total hours Available: Semester dependent (spring, summer, fall) minimum available ~ 650hrs for a semester
- Benefits: Non-paid position; gain experience and knowledge in D1 setting; work with Olympic sports at Clemson University; access to weight room area for training; Clemson issued gear; can be used to fulfill for class credit if necessary
- Intern Responsibilities: included but not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports; daily maintenance of training facility; use of technology and data analysis; completion of internship curriculum
- Required Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in Exercise Science or related field; certified in CPR/AED/First Aid; strong desire to become Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach; pursuing CSCCa-SCCC or NSCA-CSCS certification
- Preferred Qualifications: NSCA-CSCS certification; previous collegiate experience
