Overall: Three-time first-team All-ACC, the only player in Clemson history to do that…owner of 40 career records entering her her senior year… named to the 2016 and 2018 GB&I Curtis Cup teams….only Clemson women’s golfer to win three tournaments, she won two as a freshman and the Clemson Invitational in Spring 2018…entering spring of 2019, her score has counted towards Clemson’s team score 104 of 105 career rounds…she had a school record 91 consecutive counting scores broken in second round of ACC Tournament… in 2017-18, ranked 41st in final Golfstat ranking for the second straight year, and 45th by Golfweek…earned honorable mention All-American honors by the Golf Coaches Association as a junior…ranked 30th in the final Golfweek/Sagarin rankings for 2016-17, she was No. 41 in the Golfstat computer rankings…Clemson’s career leader in stroke average at (72.63), total birdies with 323 and rounds under par at 38…has 16 career rounds in the 60s, and 14 top 10 finishes, also both Clemson records…had career best and Clemson record 65 twice, at the Cougar Classic on September 14, 2015, and at Schooner Classic on 9-25-17…she recorded the first round of 65 in her very first tournament…it was the best by an ACC women’s golfer that year… starter on Clemson’s first team to reach the NCAA National Tournament as the Tigers finished 20th in 2016-17…also made ACC All-Academic team as a freshman ….named the Rookie of the Year among all Clemson athletes for 2015-16 as she won a CLEMMY Award, she was the ACC Rookie of the Year for women’s golf as well….first Clemson women’s golfer to win ACC Freshman of the Year honors, third to be named first-team All-ACC… just second Clemson women’s golfer to be All-ACC on the course and in the classroom in same year, Sloan Shanahan also did it in 2013-14…competed for winning GB&I team in the Curtis Cup June 10-12, 2016, it was just second win in 20 years for her country’s team…ranked 77th in final 2015-16 Golfweek/Sagarin women’s individual rankings, she was 79th by Golfstat…veteran of many international tournaments and that has helped her progress on the American college scene… ranked no. 35 in World Amateur rankings in late May 2018 and that got her the spot on the GB&I team for the Curtis Cup….strong student with over a 3.0 GPA.
Fall 2018: Looks forward to playing in the Master’s Women’s Amateur in April, the only Clemson golfer selected for the event….third on the team in stroke average in the fall with a 72.67…had just one round in the 60s, but had four under-par rounds and another at par…was 12 over par for her nine rounds and had 22 birdies…had her best round of the fall at the Schooner Fall Classic with a third round 68, helping Clemson to a seventh place team finish…finished 14th at that event, best among Clemson golfers as she shot even par or better in all three rounds, the only Lady Tiger to do that…struggled at the Tar Heel Invitational, then finished the fall strong with 16th place finish at the Battle at the Beach, helping Clemson to a fourth-place team finish…had consecutive rounds of 70 to finish that tournament…second to Ana Paula Valdes in that tournament in Mexico…best on the team in final round stroke average with a 71.3…had 4.06 average on par four holes, second on the team and second in par five scoring at 4.86…her score counted in all nine rounds she played…enters her final semester at Clemson with virtually every record in the book…that includes career stroke average (72.63), top 10 finishes (14), under par rounds (38) and birdies (323).
In 2018-19: Earned first-team All-ACC honors for the fourth straight year, the first Clemson women’s golfer to earn the league all-star team honor four consecutive years….also named academic All-ACC her senior year, the third time she received that award…named to the Ping All-District team…holder of over 50 Clemson women’s golf records, she holds the school record for holding records…that includes holding career records for stroke average (72.62), tournaments played (43), rounds (125), rounds in the 60s (21), birdies (378) top 10 finishes (17)…rounds under par (46) and rounds at par or better (57)…led Clemson in scoring average as a senior with a 72.41 figure..also led the team in Top 10s (3)m, under-par rounds (12)…had 77 birdies this year fourth on the team…had her best round of the year, a 68, three times…had the best round of the day 10 times, second to Ana Paula Costa’s 11 times…consistent player who had 72.8 average in first rounds and 72.5 in final rounds…second on the team in driving accuracy percentage at 80.6 percent…hit greens at 72.22 percent, best every….started the year at the Schooner Classic in Oklahoma and finished solid 14th with a four-under par 209 figure…had a season best tying 68 in final round after opening 70 and 71, so she was at even par or better for all three rounds…had worst tournament of the year following event with 228 and 62-place finish…came back strong to finish 16th at Battle of the Beach to start the spring….then won the Icon Invitational…had rounds of 60-68-69 at Iron to finish nine under par and a 207….the 207 was best by a Clemson player over 54 holes in history of the event…that was first of three straight top 10s for Hewson, she followed that with 207 score and (-9) at Gator Invitational…finished the stretch with a fourth place Briar’s Creek….finished 18th at Clemson Invitational then finished 23rd at ACC Championships….finished 49th at the NCAA Tournament in Arkansas, she had rounds of 75-74-75……10th at the Augusta National Amateur, the first event sponsored by Commiskey Park and first women’s tournament at Augusta National…had three top 10s and six total top 20s…
2017-18: Led team in stroke average with 72.10, all-time Clemson record for a season…also led squad in rounds in the 60s with 7, top 10s with 5 and under-par rounds with 15…finished the year with a #41 national ranking by Golfstat (second straight year) and #45 by Golfweek…ranked 13th in the nation in par four scoring at 4.04…had 29th best stroke average at 72.10…led Clemson team in birdies with 102, she has 301 in her career entering senior year… averaged 71.27 in the first round and 72.72 in the final round in 2017-18…opened with a score of 72 or better in nine of her 11 tournaments…her score counted in 29 of her 30 rounds…ACC Golfer of the Month for September….had best score of the round for Clemson 14 times and was Clemson’s best player in eight of the 11 tournaments…her final round 65 at the Schooner Fall Classic tied her own Clemson record…big reason Clemson finished second in the national field… not only did she have four rounds in the 60s, all four rounds were 67 or better… had three consecutive top 10 finishes to start the fall, including third-place at the Schooner Fall Classic at the University of Oklahoma…finished sixth at the Mason Rudolph to start the year, that performance included second round 66….had opening 67 and closing record tying 65 at the Schooner leading to a season best 205 score for the 54 holes…finished sixth at the Betsy Rawls at the University of Texas, that performance included a second round 67….Clemson’s top golfer for each of the first three tournaments of the fall with those top 10 finishes…had season high 15 birdies at the Schooner Fall Classic….had four top 15 finishes in the spring, including winning the Clemson Invitational with a 206 score, 10-under-par…made birdie on each of her last two holes to win the Clemson Invitational by a shot…finished with 14 birdies for the tournament…finished ninth at the ACC Tournament, a second round when her score did not count for the first time after 91 counters, held her back…finished strong 16th at the NCAA regional thanks to three consecutive rounds of 71….shot 71 or better in five of her last six rounds of the year.
In 2016-17: Ranked 41st in the nation in final Golfstat Cup and No. 30 according to Golfweek..…ranked 18th in the nation in par four scoring with a 4.06 average, she is 16th in total birdies with 111….also among the best in the nation in terms of fewest putts per round with 30.08…led the Clemson team in stroke average with a then Clemson season record 72.39…led team in rounds in the 60s with six, top 10 finishes with six, under par rounds with 12… very consistent with 32 of her first 33 rounds at 75 or better…NCAA National Tournament course had average of 79 for all the players and she did not hit the 75 mark….just three-over-par for her first 33 rounds of the year…started the year with a 203 at the Schooner Classic in Oklahoma, the lowest 54 hole score in Clemson history…had rounds of 66-70-67 for 10-under-par figure that led to second-place finish…that 66 is the second lowest round in Clemson history…the -10 score was also a Clemson record for 54 holes…came back with another second-place at the Greenville Regional in Greenville, North Carolina…finished the fall with 216 score and 13th place at Landfall Tradition…started the spring strong with a pair of top five finishes…finished fifth at the UCF Challenge to help lead Clemson to its first tournament win…she shot 209, -7 for the 54 holes…had a pair of 68s in that tournament…after consecutive 21st place finishes at Gator Invitational and LSU, she came back with an eighth place at the Clemson Invitational…Clemson’s second best player at ACC Tournament with a 217 score and 11th place…had opening round 70 that included seven birdies, tying her Clemson record for a single round…Clemson’s top player at the NCAA Regional with eighth place at one-under-par 215…first Clemson women to shoot under par at an NCAA Tournament….had the best score of the day in 20 of Clemson’s 36 rounds, and was Clemson’s top player in eight of the 12 events…Clemson’s best player on par four holes with a 4.06 and best on par five holes at 4.82….made at least 10 birdies in each of her last four events and seven of the 11 tournaments…had 14 birdies at Oklahoma to start season, her high figure for the year…very consistent, averaged 72.50 in first rounds and 71.75 in last rounds….hit fairways .683 with her drives and hit greens in regulation .654.
In 2015-16: First-team All-ACC and ACC Rookie of the Year…had a 73.43 stroke average, second best on the team…played in all 10 tournaments and all 30 rounds… Clemson’s leader in stroke average in the fall of 2015 with a 71.75 figure… had three top 10 finishes, but two were wins… 65 in her second career round was Clemson record and ended up being best round of the year by an ACC women’s golfer… first golfer in Clemson history, male or female, to win first two career events…co-medalist with Taylor Tomlinson of Florida in her first event, the Cougar Classic in Charleston, SC…shot six-under-par 210 for the 54 holes, including a second round 65 that broke the Clemson record by three shots…seven-under-par for that day also set a Clemson record for low score vs. par…then won the Lady Paladin Invitational at Furman University with a 213 score…her first round 67 was the second lowest round in Clemson history and one shot off the Lady Paladin Tournament record…ACC Women’s Golfer of the Month for September…also named National Amateur of the Month by the Southern Golf Association for the month of September… then finished sixth at the Yale Intercollegiate and 24th at the Landfall Tradition to finish the fall…overall, had seven under-par rounds and nine at par or better for her freshman season…22 of her 30 rounds were at 75 or better… consistent player in the spring who had a top 25 finish in each of her last four tournaments, only Clemson player to do that…finished 21st at Briar’s Creek, 18th at Clemson Invitational, 19th at ACC Tournament and 20th at NCAA Regional…tied for Clemson’s best player at the ACC Tournament with the 19th place finish, she helped Clemson to program best sixth place out of the 12 teams…Clemson’s second best player in the other three events that ended the year….10th in the nation according to Golfstat in birdie conversion at 25.4 percent…got off to good starts all year with a 72.60 stroke average in opening rounds, 41st best in the nation…averaged 3.13 strokes on par three holes, second on the team…led team in par five scoring average at 4.85…had one eagle and 88 birdies…her 88 birdies were second on the team…only player whose score counted in all 30 rounds…had best round of the day nine times and best tournament four times…averaged 30.81 putts per round and hit greens in regulation at .652…put drives in the fairway 80.2 percent of the time.
Before Clemson: Competed against strong competition internationally….ranked No. 46 in the European Women’s Amateur Rankings on August 15, 2015 as she entered Clemson…competed for Great Britain and Ireland team in the Vagliano Trophy at Malone Golf Club in Belfast, Northern Ireland in June of 2015…one of nine players on that team….in summer of 2015 finished fourth at the English Women’s Amateur with a 293 score, five over par…finished 16th at Irish Women’s open… finished sixth at the Spanish Ladies Amateur…reached the Elite Eight of the 2014 British Women’s Amateur…once made 10 birdies in a round at St. Andrews…comes to Clemson from Berkhamstead School in Berkhamstread, Herfortshirt, United Kingdom… gained individual victories at the Critchley Salver and the U-18 St Rule Trophy, with a gross score of -9 on the Old Course at St. Andrews and a -6 on the Old Course at Sunnigdale, respectively…. added a team victory at the Junior Home Internationals….her 2013 season saw victories in the Daily Telegraph, The European Young Masters and the Scottish U16 Championships…also won the Long Drive Contest at the 2013 Telegraph Junior Championship…in 2010 was the England U13 Champion….majoring in Business administration at Clemson.
