Indoor: One of the top vaulters in the nation…earned third straight All-ACC honor in the pole vault…finished runner-up with a clearance of 17’5.5″…best mark of the season was a clearance of 17’8.5″ at the Tyson Invitational…finished second at that meet…won the Clemson Opener with a height of 17’7.25″…cleared 17’7″ at the Virginia Tech Invitational…won the pole vault at the Clemson Invitational at 17’6.5″.2005-06Outdoor: Earned at-large berth for the NCAA Outdoor Championships…cleared 16’10.75″ at the national meet…finished eighth at regionals with a 17’1″ clearance in the pole vault…earned All-ACC honors with a second-place finish at the conference meet in Winston-Salem…it was his second straight outdoor All-ACC honor and fourth overall…posted regional-qualifying marks in the pole vault at four meets…set Clemson outdoor record at the Orange & Purple Classic with a 17’5″ clearance…also hit a mark of 17’2.75″ at the Western Carolina Invitational. Indoor: Earned All-America status after finishing in a tie for eighth at the NCAA Championships…cleared 17’6.75″ and became the first Tiger ever to earn All-America honors in the indoor event…won the ACC Championship in the pole vault after clearing a then school-record 17’7″ at Virginia Tech’s Rector Field House…first ACC indoor champion in that event for Clemson since 1997…broke Eric Lander’s 11-year old record in the indoor pole vault…first Clemson athlete ever to compete in the indoor pole vault and only the second ever to compete in the NCAA Championships (Ryan Lewis, outdoor 2003, was the other)…recorded a clearance of 17’2.75″ at the Virginia Tech Invitational…he was the top collegiate finisher in that event…trumped that mark with a clearance of 17’4.5″ in finishing runner-up at the Iowa State Classic…cleared 16’6.75″ at the Clemson Opener in December…finished second at the Clemson Invitational with a clearance of 17’0.75″, his second such provisional mark of the indoor season.2004-05Outdoor: Regional qualifier in the pole vault with a mark of 16’6.75″ at the ACC Championships, placing third and earning All-ACC honors…finished third with a leap of 16’2.75″ at the Clemson Invitational…cleared 16’0.75″ at the Georgia Tech Invitational…competed for Team USA at the Pan American Junior Championships…won the silver medal at the event…earned his spot with a mark of 16’8.75″ at the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Carson, CA. Indoor: Finished second with a season-best mark of 16’8.75″ in the pole vault at the Notre Dame Invitational…earned All-ACC honors with a second-place finish and clearance of 16’4.75″…won the event at the Clemson Invitational with a mark of 16’6.75″…also cleared 16’6.75″ at the Clemson Classic…placed third in the pole vault at the Clemson Opener with a jump of 16’0.75″…placed fourth with a mark of 16’0.75″ at the Kentucky Invitational. Northwestern High School Highlights 2004 Indoor National Scholastic Meet All-American in the pole vault…a three-time South Carolina AAAA state champion in the pole vault (2002-04)…state record-holder in the event with a mark of 16’9″…named the South Carolina Track & Field Gatorade Athlete of the Year in 2004…the 2004 Great Southwest Classic pole vault champion…named the Rock Hill Herald high school male track athlete of the year in 2003 and 2004…the 2004 Taco Bell Classic pole vault champion…the South Carolina Coaches Classic pole vault champion and meet record holder at 16’8″ in 2004…competed at the 2003 World Youth Championships as a member of Team USA…2002 USATF National Champion in the intermediate boys division…competed at the 2002 Junior Olympic Championships.
