CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Track & Field sprinter Rebekah Smith has been named to the 2019 All-ACC Academic Indoor Track & Field Team, the conference office announced Thursday.
Smith, a psychology major, was the Tigers’ leading scorer at the 2019 ACC Indoor Championships (Feb. 21-23) in Blacksburg, Virginia. The junior tallied 10 points for the Clemson women after registering fourth-place finishes in both the 60m and 200m dashes. Additionally, Smith ranked third overall in the ACC in the 200m dash with a season-best time of 23.52 seconds for the entirety of the 2018-19 indoor season.
The award is Smith’s fourth career All-ACC Academic distinction, having now earned three indoors (2017-19) and one outdoors (2018).
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes each conference student-athlete with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
