Six Tigers to Represent Clemson at the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships

CLEMSON, SC – Six Tigers have qualified to represent Clemson at the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, TX this weekend. Jenna Burtch, Patty Hider, Elise Thieler, Mandy Commons, Christine Woodruff, and Lindsey Kroeger will be competing among the nations’ best.

The Tigers will swim in four relay events and five individual events. The Tigers are ranked in the top ten in the nation in three of the four relay events. The Tiger 200 free relay enters the competition ranked ninth in the country with a time of 1:31.39. Clemson holds the tenth-fastest time in the country in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:20.53. The Tigers also hold the tenth-spot in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:40.76. Clemson qualified 15th in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:42.43.

In addition to the relays, Clemson will compete in five individual events. Jenna Burtch will compete in the 50, 100, and 200 free. Elise Theiler will represent the Tigers in the 50 free and the 100 fly. Mandy Commons will swim in the 200 breast and Christine Woodruff will join Burtch in the 100 free.

The NCAA Championships will begin on Thursday and run through Saturday at the University of Texas at Austin.
