Six Tigers Picked in Major League Draft Tuesday

Six Tigers were taken in the 2011 Major League draft on Tuesday. Two Tigers were chosen in the second round. Junior shortstop Brad Miller (Windermere, FL), the 2011 ACC Player-of-the-Year, was a second-round draft selection (#62 overall pick) of the Seattle Mariners. Junior utility player Will Lamb (Seaford, VA), a Second-Team All-ACC selection in 2011, was also a second-round draft pick (#83 overall pick) of the Texas Rangers.

Four other Tigers were drafted on Tuesday. Junior infielder John Hinson (Asheville, NC) was a 13th-round draft selection (#400 overall pick) of the Houston Astros. Senior outfielder Jeff Schaus (Naples, FL), a Second-Team All-ACC selection in 2011, was a 16th-round draft pick (#494 overall pick) of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Sophomore righthander Kevin Brady (Gaithersburg, MD) was a 17th-round draft selection (#518 overall pick) of the Cleveland Indians. Sophomore lefthander Joseph Moorefield (Woodruff, SC) was a 26th-round draft pick (#786 overall pick) of the Kansas City Royals.

The final 20 rounds (31-50) of the draft will take place on Wednesday.
