CLEMSON, SC – Clemson women’s soccer rising freshman goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan recently returned from Vancouver, where she attended Canada’s U-20 Women’s National Team camp from June 10-17. Sheridan was one of 22 players selected by the Canadian Soccer Association to attend the camp, which was directed by Canada’s U-20 head coach Andrew Olivieri.
Sheridan and the other players in attendance were evaluated as they competed to earn a spot on Canada’s roster for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Canada in August of 2014. The team’s roster will be announced at a later date.
Earlier this summer, Sheridan was named the W-League’s Player of the Week for the week of May 27-June 2 after posting three shutouts for the Toronto Lady Lynx. All three of Sheridan’s shutouts – at K-W United (0-0), at Quebec City (3-0) and at Laval (1-0) – were recorded on the road.
