Sheri Alexander Hired as Head Coach of Clemson Rally Cats

CLEMSON, SC – Sheri Alexander has been hired as the head coach of the Rally Cats, announced the Clemson University Athletic Department on Wednesday. Alexander is a 1989 graduate of Lander University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She taught for five years prior to becoming a sales representative for Varsity Spirit Fashions in 1994.

Alexander has been a cheerleading coach for 19 years at various locations in the upstate including Wren High School and Palmetto High School, where teams won state championships in 1998 and 2005. Alexander also coached cheer and dance at Anderson University (SC) for the past nine years. She resides in Williamston, SC where she is married to Wade Alexander. The couple has two children, Caleb (18) and Kati (14).

The Rally Cats are the award winning dance team of the Clemson Athletic Department. They perform at football and basketball games and make appearances in the community. The Rally Cats also participate in national competitions and have consistently finished as one of the nation’s premier dance teams.

“We are extremely excited about Sheri joining our staff,” said Director of Marketing Mike Money. “The Rally Cats are an integral part of Clemson University Athletics and we look forward to Sheri’s leadership.”
