Seven Former Cross Country Standouts Named To ACC 50th Anniversary Team

Clemson, SC – Seven former Clemson women’s cross country athletes have been selected to the 50th Anniversary All-ACC team, announced by the conference on Wednesday. The Lady Tigers that have been named to the team are Cindy Duarte, Anne Evans, Ute Jamrozy, Tina Krebs, Mareike Ressing, Kerry Robinson, and Stephanie Wiekert.

All seven honorees were All-Americans while at Clemson, and two of the Lady Tigers earned the same honor on more than one occasion. All seven athletes also received All-District III honors, as well as All-ACC honors.

Cindy Duarte was a 1981 All-American with a 30th-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Duarte also earned All-District III honors in 1980 and 1981, and was being a member of the All-ACC team those years.

Anne Evans was a two-time All-American for the Lady Tigers in 1989 and 1990. In 1989, she placed 19th in the nation then and finished seventh in 1990. She was also the 1990 ACC Individual Champion in 1990. Evans merited All-District III honors in 1989 and 1990, in addition to being named to the All-ACC team in 1988, 1989, and 1990.

Ute Jamrozy was a 1986 All-American with a fourth place finish at the National Championships. During her career at Clemson, Jamrozy was named to the All-District III team along with being a member of the All-ACC teams in 1985 and 1986. She was also the 1986 ACC Champion.

Tina Krebs was a two-time All-American in 1983 and 1984. In 1983, she finished seventh in the nation then finished fifth in 1984. She was named to the All-ACC team three times in 1982, 1983, and 1984. The same years, she was named as a three-time All-District III honoree.

Mareike Ressing earned All-American honors in 1990, with a 15th-place finish at the NCAA Championships. She earned All-District III honors in 1990 and 1993, and was a three-time All-ACC honoree in 1990, 1993, and 1994.

Kerry Robinson was a 1981 NCAA All-American with a 25th-place at the National Championships. She was a three-time All-District III honoree in 1981, 1982 and 1983, and was also named to the All-ACC team in 1982 and 1983.

Stephanie Wiekert, an All-American in 1982, concluded the season with a 16th- place finish the NCAA Championships. She was named to the All-District III team twice (1981, 1982). Wiekert was also selected to the All-ACC team in 1982 and 1983.
