Rick Hill Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

Clemson men’s track and field standout Rick Hill was named to the 2003 CoSIDA Academic All-District III first team, announced Thursday. The junior from Chapel Hill, NC, boasts a 3.60 cumulative GPA and is majoring in marketing. A decathlete, he will compete in this year’s NCAA Championships after qualifying for the meet with 7,327 points. Hill was the 2003 ACC Champion in the decathlon, and also won the decathlon at the 2003 Orange & Purple Classic.

Last year, he was named to the 2002 All-Academic team by the U.S. Track Coaches Association. Hill finished second in the decathlon at the 2002 ACC Championships and recorded seven season-bests at that meet. He was a member of the 2000-01, 2001-02 and 2002-03 Clemson and ACC Academic Honor Rolls.
