CLEMSON, S.C. – Junior Quinn Kuhl (Holly Springs, N.C.) was named the ACC Specialist of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. Kuhl anchored two events, earning a career-high 9.900 on bars and posting a 9.825 on beam in Clemson’s 196.150 team showing against Towson, the fourth-highest team total in the nation in week one under new Co-Head Coaches Liz Crandall-Howell and Justin Howell.
Kuhl’s 9.900 tied her for the second-best mark in Clemson’s young history, with the program now in its third season. She won her first career event outright (bars) and also tied for first with teammate Lilly Lippeatt on beam.
Kuhl is the fifth Tiger to earn a league Specialist of the Week honor, joining Brie Clark (three times), Lauren Rutherford, Rebecca Wells and Trinity Brown.
Kuhl and the Tigers host preseason-No. 8 Alabama on Friday at 7 p.m. in Littlejohn Coliseum.
