Prowl and Growl: Tiger Trek 2009

We have all heard at some point in our lives, “just leave it to the professionals”. This year’s Prowl and Growl tour throughout South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia is taking that approach by bringing Don Munson on board to be the host of this year’s tour. Many of you have read about the format changes to this year’s Clemson tour. This new approach will be more exciting, more interactive and more informative as Don will bring his many years of experience working with Clemson to the table.

You know Don Munson whether you realize it not. He is the voice of the Tiger Tailgate Show each Saturday as he gives you all the information you need as you make your way to Clemson in the Fall. He is also the voice you hear on Tiger Calls with Coach Swinney, Coach Purnell and other coaches in the athletic department throughout the year on the Clemson Tiger Sports Network. Mr. Munson is also well known for his role in calling basketball games, men and women, and for being the voice for the Tigers baseball team on many occasions. It is his experience and his familiarity with all things Clemson that will prove to be a valuable asset to bringing excitement back to the spring meetings.

More importantly Don is excited and eager in this new role with IPTAY, the Clemson Alumni Association and the Clemson Fund. His enthusiasm was clear the first time we discussed this new format. His energy and willingness to interact with the crowd and pose questions to the coaches that will give you an insider’s look into Clemson Athletics will no-doubt be the highlight of your evening as opposed to the “stump” speeches of the past.

The new format will also include “chalk-talk” or WhiteBoard segments that will give coaches and opportunity to interact with you and give you the ins and outs of plays on the field or on the court. Even the placemats this year are interactive for the kids, or the kids in all of us, with a coloring section, a word find and Clemson trivia questions that will test your knowledge of your favorite school. Don’t worry the highlight videos are making the tour, as well, as we look back on all the excitement from this past football and basketball season.

Without a doubt our staff is excited about this year’s tour. Don Munson, Coach Purnell and Coach Swinney are excited about getting out to see the fans that support them throughout their seasons.
