Phil Pohl Named Capital One First-Team Academic All-American

Senior DH Phil Pohl (Cooperstown, NY) was named a first-team Academic All-American by Capital One. It was the second year in a row he earned Academic All-America honors, as he was named to the third team in 2011.

Pohl, who is hitting .288 with eight homers and a team-high 50 RBIs, had a 3.63 career GPA and graduated in May with a degree in management. He made at least a 3.0 GPA in all eight of his semesters at Clemson.
