Pairings Announced for the 31st Annual ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Clemson women’s basketball team is seeded ninth in the 2008 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament and will face #8-seed NC State in the opening round of the event. The teams will meet for the second time this season on Thursday, Mar.6 at 3:00 pm at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC.

North Carolina clinched the No. 1 seed for the upcoming tournament, going undefeated in conference play, and will look to record its fourth consecutive ACC title.

The Lady Tigers have faced the Wolfpack 14 times in the tournament, the most of any other conference school, and last met in the 2006 event. NC State won that match-up, but Clemson leads, 10-4, overall. The winner of Thursday’s contest will earn a date with the top-seeded Tar Heels.

The 31st Annual ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament is set to tip-off at approximately 11 a.m. ET on Thursday, March 6 and will conclude with a 1p.m. championship contest on Sunday, March 9. The title game as well as the semifinals showings will be broadcast by Fox Sports Net (FSN), while the 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, and Friday, March 7 will be televised on the league’s regional package (RSN).
