Orange Tops White in Annual Volleyball Scrimmage

CLEMSON, SC – Orange topped White, 2-1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-19) in the annual Orange and White scrimmage, held at Jervey Gymnasium on Friday night. Head Coach Jolene Jordan Hoover split the squad into two and let the team compete, with the Orange team coming out on top behind 14 kills from Kristin Faust and 10 kills from Karis Watson. Watson also had a team-high six blocks in the match. Sandra Adeleye led the White team with 12 kills and hit .450 on the evening. Sophomore Kamryn Sherman had 31 assists and 11 digs for White, and has the match’s only double-double. Every player on the roster saw the floor on the night and got into the scorebook. Preseason All-ACC selections Serenat Yaz and Alexa Rand had five and six kills, respectively. Mo Simmons and Freshman Kalah Jones had nine kills apiece for opposing teams. Jones also added a match-high 13 digs. Savannah Miller had ten digs at libero, while Lou Davis added nine. Clemson opens regular season play on Aug. 24 at 7:00 pm against Coastal Carolina in the Big Orange Bash. The Tigers were picked to finish third by the league’s 12 coaches on Friday as well.
