CLEMSON – The Clemson Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving team held their annual Orange and White meet Friday afternoon at McHugh Natatorium as the Orange team defeated the White 234-200. On the women’s side, Orange won 119-97, and for the men, Orange had a 115-103 victory.
“They did a really great job today,” said Head Coach Christopher Ip. “This is always a good chance for us to see where we are and what we need to improve on. I thought our freshmen looked really good and had a strong day. I am looking forward to heading to Davidson on October 4.”
The Orange group’s David Gordon won both the 200 free and the 500 free, and a first place finish with the 400 freestyle relay. For the women, Katrina Obas picked up wins in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke, along with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay.
The White team had a strong showing from the freshmen. Tori Cervone won the 200 freestyle, finished second in the 200 IM, and was a member of the second place 200 medley relay. Freshman Meg Anderson picked up a win in the 50 freestyle and fellow freshmen Eric Bruck won for the men.
For White, sophomore Chris Dart won all three events he competed in, the 1000 freestyle, 100 back, and 100 breast.
Senior Stephanie Fura won the one-meter diving for the Orange team, while White’s representative David Giambra took the one-meter for the men.
The Tigers’ will begin their dual meet season at Davidson on Saturday, October 3 at 1:00 PM.
