Oliveira Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

Clemson women’s track and field All-American Gisele Oliveira was named to the 2003 CoSIDA Academic All-District III first team, announced Thursday. The sophomore from Porto Alegre, Brazil, boasts a 3.90 cumulative GPA and is majoring in marketing. She is Clemson’s all-time leader in the triple jump and ranks second on the Lady Tigers’ list in the long jump. Oliveira is the 2003 ACC Champion in the triple jump, and set the ACC Meet record in the event.

Last year, she provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the triple jump, and earned All-America honors in the triple jump outdoors with a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships. She was named to the 2002 US Track and Field Coaches Association All-Academic Team in recognition of her academic and athletic achievements. She is also a member of the 2001-02 and 2002-03 ACC and Clemson Academic Honor Rolls.
