No. 3 N.C. State Visits Clemson Thursday Night

CLEMSON, S.C.— The Clemson Lady Tiger basketball team will play host to third-ranked N.C. State Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. in Littlejohn Coliseum.

Clemson will enter the contest with a 10-5 record overall and a 1-2 mark in the ACC. N.C. State will enter the game with a 14-0 record overall and a 5-0 slate in league play.

Clemson is led in scoring by freshman Chrissy Floyd. She is averaging 12.5 ppg. The Lady Tigers are led in rebounding by Erin Batth with a 7.7 rpg. mark. Batth is the Lady Tigers’ second leading scorer with a 9.9 ppg. average. Krystal Scott leads the Lady Tigers in assists with 41 or 2.7 assists per game.

N.C. State is led in scoring by Tynesha Lewis with a 14.1 ppg. average. Kaayla Chones leads the Wolfpack in rebounding with a 9.3 rpg. mark.

This will be the 55th meeting between Clemson and N.C. State on the basketball court. N.C. State leads the overall series 34-20. However, Clemson has won the last four games in the series, and seven of the last 10 played between the two schools.

N.C. State is ranked third in both the Associated Press and USA Today polls.

Under Head Coach Jim Davis, the Lady Tigers have a 27-18 record against Associated Press-ranked teams at Clemson.

Krystal Scott scored a career-high 16 points, while Chrissy Floyd added 15 in leading Clemson to a 60-59 upset win over 12th-ranked North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC Monday, January 10. This was the first time Clemson has defeated North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC since 1990. Erin Batth had 11 rebounds for the Lady Tigers.

The win over 12th-ranked North Carolina on January 10, was the highest ranked team Clemson has defeated on the road since the Lady Tigers defeated ninth-ranked Virginia 58-44 on January 4, 1997.
