FRESNO, CA – The No. 23 ranked Texas Tech men’s tennis team defeated Clemson, 5-2 in a men’s intercollegiate tennis match at Fresno, CA Monday evening.
Texas Tech is now 17-0 on the year, while Clemson falls to 20-3 this season. The loss snaps a 15-match winning streak by the Tigers.
At number one singles, the Red Raiders’ Radek Nijaki defeated Nathan Thompson, 6-4, 6-2. The Tigers’ Clement Reix was victorious over Jakob Paulsen at number three singles 6-4, 7-5. Reix is now 19-9 on the year in singles action.
Clemson won the doubles point behind Thompson and Ryan Young’s 8-5 win over Nijaki and Esat Tanik at number one doubles. The Tigers will play at Fresno State on Wednesday, March 23, in the Tigers’ next action.
