FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 23 Clemson men’s tennis team defeated No. 36 TCU 6-1 on Friday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, TX. The win boosts Clemson’s record to 2-0, while dropping TCU to 1-1.
The Frogs won two doubles matches to jump out to a 1-0 lead. The duo of Cosmin Cotet and Kriegler Brink evened the doubles match with a win over the Tigers’ Clement Reix and Ryan Young 8-6 in the No. 1 slot. Chris Biro and Caleb Bulls clinched the point for TCU with a defeat of Gera Boryachinskiy and Carlos Alvarez 8-4 in the No. 3 spot.
In singles, No. 46 Clement Reix defeated Cosmin Cotet of TCU 7-6, 3-6, 6-3. Clemson won the over five singles matches in straight sets to take the 6-1 win.
Clemson Head Coach Chuck Kriese began his 32 season at Clemson with today’s action. Earlier in the day, Clemson defeated Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
