CLEMSON, S.C. – Tara Walsh posted three routines of 9.850 or better in a return to her home state to help No. 14 Clemson (4-5, 196.550 NQS) to a 196.975 overall score at No. 9 Michigan on Friday. The Wolverines (9-3, 197.146 NQS) finished with a 197.225. The Tigers set a pair of program records for road meets, a 196.975 overall and a 49.425 on floor. The teams tied on vault (49.075) and bars (49.300), and the Tigers won floor (49.425-49.400), but Michigan had a 49.450-49.175 advantage on beam to edge Clemson.
Walsh, a native of Waterford, Mich., posted scores of 9.900 (floor), 9.850 (vault) and 9.850 (beam), sharing the title on vault and setting a new career best on floor. Trinity Brown tied the school record on bars with a 9.925 in her first official appearance in the lineup in more than a year in coming back from an Achilles injury.
Clemson will travel to Huntsville. Ala. after the meet to get set for the Elevate the Stage quad meet on Sunday against No. 6 Georgia, No. 17 Auburn and Pittsburgh.

Bars: 49.300 (t-5th in program history)
Trinity Brown tied the school record with a 9.925 in the fifth spot in helping the Tigers to a 49.300, tied for the fifth-best in school history. Brown was making her first official appearance in the Clemson lineup since suffering an Achilles injury in 2025. Lilly Lippeatt had a 9.875 in the leadoff spot, and Ella Cesario matched her in the fourth spot. Hannah Clark (9.825) and Emma Malewski (9.800) also scored and counted toward the total.
Vault: 49.075 (t-2nd in program history in a road dual meet)
Clemson used five solid vaults to post a 49.075, highlighted by 9.850s from Madison Minner in the leadoff spot and Tara Walsh in the fifth spot to tie for the title with Michigan’s Reyna Guggino. Walsh posted her seventh vault of 9.850 or higher in nine meets this season, and Minner tied a season best. Cesario added a solid 9.825, while Maggie Holman and Paige Anastasi added 9.775s.
Clemson and Michigan were tied after two rotations (98.375) with matching scores on both vault and bars.
Floor: 49.425 (5th highest in program history, best ever in road meet)
Clemson posted its highest road floor score in its young history with a 49.425, with all five counting scores a 9.850 or higher and three at or above a 9.900. Holman led off with a 9.850, tying her second-best of the season and Minner followed with a 9.850 of her own. Lippeatt tallied a season-best 9.900, which tied for the second-best floor performance of her 23 career floor routines. Walsh followed with a career-best 9.900 and Clark closed with a 9.925, her ninth score of 9.900 or higher on floor this season.
Beam: 49.175
Lilly Lippett led off with a 9.825 and Brie Clark followed with a team-best 9.875. Emma Malewski scored a 9.800 and Quinn Kuhl added a 9.825. Walsh needed a 9.750 or higher to give Clemson its highest-ever team road score, and the senior put up a 9.850 in the achor spot to set the final margin.
