BEAVERTON, OR – Saturday, September 5 is the official kick off of the 2009 college football season and Nike Golf athletes will be taking part — not on the football field, but on the golf course.
In conjunction with the official start of the college football season opener, Nike Golf athletes who are competing in the Deutsche Bank Championship in Norton, MA, will be kicking off the NCAA Collegiate Football season by wearing their alma mater colors provided by Nike Golf during the second round (Saturday, September 5) of the PGA Tour event. Each Nike athlete in the field will be showing their support of their alma mater by wearing custom Nike Golf apparel that represent their alma mater’s logos and team colors. (see attachment)
“I’m a huge OU fan and never miss a Sooners game,” said Nike Golf athlete Anthony Kim. “To show my support, I’m looking forward to wearing crimson and cream on game day at the Deutsche Bank Championship. This is a great idea by Nike. It’s cool to be a part of it.”
The Nike Golf collegiate apparel will be available at golf shops and golf specialty stores in the respective college markets.
