CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Men’s Tennis team (10-10, 2-5 ACC) defeated the No. 50 Miami Hurricanes (10-9, 2-6 ACC), 4-0 on Thursday, March 28. This marks the Tiger’s second conference win of the season. Noa Vukadin and Max Smith shined on the day in doubles, defeating No. 64 ranked pair Vladislav Melnic and Adrien Burdet.
Opening the day in doubles, Wissam Abderrahman and Max Damm defeated Sam Baumgartner and Nacho Serra Sanchezon court three in a quick 6-1 set. With Vukadin and Smith defeating Burdet and Melnic, the Tigers quickly clinched the doubles point.
In singles, every court, besides court one, won their first set against Miami. Stewart Aronson got it started early for the Tigers as he defeated Baumgartner 6-4 in the first set. Continuing on in the second, Aronson swiftly trounced Baumgartner 6-0 to secure the first singles point and put the Tigers up 2-0.
On court two, No.119 Ryuhei Azuma followed closely behind Aronson by defeating Antonio Prat. In the first set, Azuma won 6-3, and in the second set, he finished the job 6-0.
Securing the 4-0 win for the Tigers on court three, Marko Mesarovic defeated Melnic 6-4, 6-2.
Next up, the Tigers take on Florida State for Tiger Tennis Fest on Saturday, March 30, at 2 p.m. Tiger Tennis Fest is a promotional event where fans are encouraged to start the day cheering on women’s tennis at 10 a.m. against Notre Dame. There will be food, games, pickleball for play, an easter egg hunt, and face painting for people of all ages. Additionally, raffles for various gifts will be taking place throughout both matches.
