Mottl Named to Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American Third-Team

Clemson, SC – Clemson pitcher Ryan Mottl was named to the 1999 Louisville Slugger preseason All-American third team selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

Mottl, a junior, finished the 1998 season with a 9-4 record and a 4.81 ERA. The right hander from Florissant, Mo. recorded 96 strikeouts against 31 walks in 101 innings pitched.

This marks the second time Collegiate Baseball newspaper has recognized Mottl. As a freshman in 1997, he was named to the newspaper’s freshman All-American first-team.

Heading into 1999, Mottl owns a career record of 19-7 and an ERA of 4.77.
