Mottl Named ACC Pitcher-Of-The-Week

CLEMSON, S.C. – Entering his start against N.C. State on April 8, Ryan Mottl was 0-1 with a 12.33 ERA in three previous starts against the Wolfpack in his career. But Mottl responded with 7.0 shutout innings, allowing just one hit to earn the win. He also allowed three walks while striking out six to earn ACC Pitcher-of-the-Week honors. Mottl is 6-2 with a 2.26 ERA this season in 10 starts. He is scheduled to pitch next on Friday against Wake Forest.

Clemson’s 2.71 team ERA is tops in the ACC as of April 10. Also, Ryan Mottl, and Jarrod Schmidt are 1-2-3 in ERA in the league. Berney has a 1.46 ERA, Schmidt a 1.93 ERA, and Mottl a 2.26 ERA. Nick Glaser’s nine saves is also tops in the ACC. Clemson’s ERA in 1999 was 5.82.
