Clemson, SC – Red-shirt sophomore Miller Moss will travel to Winston-Salem, NC on Tuesday to compete in the Deacon Combined Events meet at Kentner Stadium on the campus of Wake Forest University. Moss, an All-ACC performer in the decathlon in 2008, will be participating in his first multi-event competition of the 2009 outdoor season.
Moss was the league runner-up as a red-shirt freshman after scoring 6,991 points in the decathlon at the ACC Outdoor Championships. His point total was an NCAA provisional qualifying effort and the ninth-best decathlon score in Clemson history.
This season, Moss competed in the open 400m dash at the ACC outdoor meet. However, he did place fifth during indoor season in the heptathlon. He was an NCAA provisional qualifier in the heptathlon with 5,468 points, the third-best indoor multi-event score in Clemson history.
The Deacon Combined Events will be held Tuesday and Wednesday. The first day will feature the 100m dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, and 400m dash. The final day consists of the 110m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and 1500m run.
