Clemson, S.C—Clemson golfers Marisa Messana and Ana Paula Valdes have both been named All-American Scholars by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association. Women selected to the team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
Messana, who graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA, is the first Clemson women’s golfer to be named an All-American Scholar four consecutive years. For Valdes, a sophomore, it is her second selection.
Both women were starters for Clemson’s 2017-18 team that finished the year ranked 24th in the final Golfstat team ranking. The team finished a program best third at the ACC Tournament and reached the NCAA Regional where the team missed moving on to the National Tournament by just one shot.
