Men’s Track and Field Team Ranked Third in the Nation

CLEMSON, SC– The first ranking of the outdoor track and field season was issued today by the Trackwire 25 poll. The publication listed the Tigers third with 26 points.

The Tigers have had an outstanding outdoor season so far with one athlete, sophomore Shawn Crawford from Van Wyck, SC, who has automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200m dash with a time of 10.34. There is also four individual and one relay team that have provisionally qualified. Crawford-100m dash, Aaron Haynes- 400m hurdles, Jeremichael Williams- 110m high hurdles and Greg Hines- 110m high hurdles, and the 400m hurdles.

A note of interest on the Clemson spring sports. With the release of the outdoor track and field poll today that brings the total number of teams that are ranked in the top five to three. Golf and baseball are both fourth in their respective poll’s.

The Clemson men’s and women’s track and field teams will be at home this weekend with the Clemson Relays which will be held at the Rock Norman Track Complex on April 3rd and 4th.
