Men’s Tennis Defeats St. John’s And West Virginia

CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson defeated St. John’s 6-1 and West Virginia 7-0 in men’s intercollegiate tennis action at Clemson, SC.

Clemson is now 6-4 on the year and have won three matches in a row. The Tigers defeated St. John’s late Friday night and West Virginia Saturday morning. The Tigers are scheduled to play Tennessee Tech later Saturday afternoon.

In the St. John’s match, Clemson won five of the six singles matches and claimed the doubles point.

Clemson’s Jamin Thompson defeated Fabian Carchi 6-3, 6-4 at number one singles.

Saturday, in the West Virginia match, the Tigers swept the singes matches and won the doubles point in claiming the 7-0 win. Jamin Thompson won at number one singles over West Virginia’s Adam Marchetti 7-6, 6-2.
