CLEMSON, S.C. — The men’s swimming and diving team ended the regular season with 146.50 – 78.50 victory over ACC opponent Georgia Tech. The men’s current record is now 5-7 overall and 1-2 in the ACC.
The Tigers defeated the Yellowjackets in nine out of 13 events, while placing first, second and third in eight of them.
Wes Morrow not only won the the 1000 freestyle, but had a personal best of 9:50.36. Chris Moro came in second with a time of 10:03.19.
The 400 medley relay of Tim Collis, Jano, Dubreuil, Razvan and Will Rogers took first with a time of 3:25.65, which landed them the fourth best season time.
The Tigers dominated the sprints with a winning time of 1:44.34 (Will York) in the 200 freestyle, 21.17 in the 50 freestyle (Mike Pridemore) and 46.34 in the 100 freestyle (Razvan Petcu). Andy Garrett had a personal best in the one-meter diving competition with 11 dives, as he placed second with a score of 365.62.
Mike Pridemore finished first in the 200 butterfly (1:55.51), as teammate Adam Porter collected first in the 200 backstroke (1:54.29).
Junior Matt Maurer came in first in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:16.98, as well as the 500 freestyle (4:49.05).
Seniors Scott Ayer, John Dunham, Dan Hoeller, Matt Nelson, Sasha Novozhilov, P.J. Olson and Sean Stockton were recognized as it were their last home meet.
This was the last meet of the season before the Tigers head to Charlottesville, VA for the the ACC Championships February 26-28.
