Men’s Soccer Announces 2019 Spring Schedule

NOTE (2/8/19): Clemson vs. Atlanta United 2 is Closed Scrimmage

The Clemson men’s soccer team faces Atlanta United 2 in a spring match on the road on Saturday, Feb. 9. The scrimmage will be played at Atlanta United’s Training Ground, and Atlanta United 2 has closed the contest to the public.

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s soccer team will play five matches during the spring 2019 season, including two at home at Historic Riggs Field, one against an MLS reserve team and three against ACC opponents that finished in the top-15 nationally in 2018. Head Coach Mike Noonan made the announcement on Wednesday.

The Tigers open the spring season on Saturday, Feb. 9 against Atlanta United 2, the reserve team of Major League Soccer’s 2018 Champion Atlanta United FC, on the road in Atlanta, Ga. On Saturday, March 2, Clemson faces Wake Forest, ranked sixth in last season’s final United Soccer Coaches poll, in Winston-Salem, N.C.

On consecutive Saturdays, March 30 and April 6, the Tigers host North Carolina and Duke, respectively, at Historic Riggs Field. The Tar Heels were ranked 14th in the final postseason poll of 2018, while the Blue Devils were listed at 11th nationally.

The final match of the spring campaign will be held Saturday, April 13 in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Tigers’ opponent will depend on the results of the previous spring matches between Clemson, Duke, North Carolina and Wake Forest.
