Men’s Cross Country Team Places Third at ACC Championships

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The Clemson men’s cross country team placed third with 94 points at the ACC Championships, held Monday in Charlottesville. N.C. State won the meet with 26 points, and Duke placed second with 75 points.

Senior Joe Gibson led Clemson in the 8K race, placing second with a time of 24:45.7 to earn all-ACC honors. Freshman B.J. Dillard placed 15th with a time of 25:25.6, his second-fastest time of the season. Senior Esteban Diaz placed 19th, finishing the race in 25:31.5. Freshman Jason Meany also ran his second-fastest time of the season, finishing 25th at 25:53.3

Senior Matt Tooman ran 26:09.4 to place 34th, and freshman Ryan Demers placed 40th with a time of 26:28.9 Junior Steve Alexander finished the race in 26:39.3 to take 44th place. Junior Jason Putnam rounded out the Tiger runners, placing 54th with a time of 27:04.1

Clemson will compete at the District III Championships November 14 at Furman University.
