Men’s Cross Country Places Fourth at Cavalier Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Clemson men’s cross country team placed fourth with 89 points at the Cavalier Invitational in Charlottesville on Saturday. Georgetown won the 8K race with 58 points.

Senior Joe Gibson placed fourth with a time of 25:16.10 to lead the Tigers. Senior Esteban Diaz and freshman Jason Meany also placed in the top 20. Diaz was 16th, finishing the race in 26:08.40, while Meany placed 18th with a time of 26:11.60. Freshman Ryan Demers placed 24th with a time of 26:32.90.

Freshman B.J. Dillard placed 31st with a time of 26:49.00, while junior Jason Putnam was 39th, finishing in 27:03.80. Junior Steve Alexander placed 46th with a time of 27:23.00, and senior Matt Tooman was 49th, finishing in 27:32.30.

The team will compete at the Notre Dame Invitational on October 2.
