Ty Hudson joined the men’s basketball program after a decorated career at Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Ga. Hudson first came to campus this summer for the second session, and is expected to provide depth for a Clemson backcourt looking to replace starters Rod Hall and Damarcus Harrison.
“He has some similarities to Rod, in that we’re not 100 percent sure what position he is right away,” said head coach Brad Brownell. “He can play point and the two. He shoots the ball better than Rod did coming in. He needs to get used to the speed of the game at this level. He doesn’t try to do more than he should. He’s an efficient player who moves the ball and takes shots when they come to him. Sometimes young guys get into trouble trying to make too many things happen. Speed of the game will be a big factor for him.”
