Shelton Mitchell joined the men’s basketball program after spending the 2014-15 season at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. Though he has to sit out the 2015-16 season due to NCAA transfer rules, he brings a ton of experience. He posted 132 points and 103 assists in playing 620 minutes for the Commodores.
“Shelton is a really good player,” said head coach Brad Brownell. “He had over 100 assists as a freshman at Vanderbilt and has a great feel for the game. He’s a good passer and has size at the point guard position. He plays with a good pace, and plays with his head up. We’re excited about him.”
